Glass fusing experiments made at Incinterator Gallery

Glass class experiments - 01

Earlier this year I’ve attended two workshop series at the Incinerator Gallery in Moonee Ponds, Melbourne. I’ve really enjoyed doing them. The first was Painting for Beginners and the second, Introduction to Glass Fusing.

I think what I’ve enjoyed most about both has been the ability to learn some of the basics for each from practicing artists, and then have the freedom just to experiment. The workshops run weekly over 6 evenings and are pretty informal. The teachers are all practicing artists (Nadia Mercuri runs the Glass Fusing classes) in the particular workshop area. So you have plenty of time to ask questions and get a good basic understanding on things. The class sizes are pretty small too but really affordable, so if you’re in the area, suss it out! The new term is starting next week, so if you’re quick you may still be able to wrangle yourself a spot.

I finally got around to picking up my experiments from a glass fusing workshops yesterday. I was quite suprised with the outcomes, and keen to experiment a bit further when I get some time….
